Chapter 6 - THE UNCLE WHO NEVER LEFT

Ethan searched old company records. Richard had controlled a private security firm that handled transportation for Ashford events. The firm had been dissolved shortly after my accident.
Daniel agreed to meet us. He admitted that Richard’s men had followed our car to frighten him into silence after he discovered Caroline had been given a copy of my championship routine before the final. “I was driving too fast,” he said. “But I wasn’t the only reason we crashed.”

Ethan confronted Walter. His father denied knowing where Richard was, but his expression changed when Ethan showed him the security-company records.
“You knew,” Ethan said.
“I was protecting family.”
